This page explains what Global Marathon Routes does with information when you visit it, in plain language rather than legal boilerplate. It covers the whole site, including the course pages and the online tools.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. The site is a static reference: there are no accounts, no logins, no comment forms and no advertising trackers. The only information that leaves your device is the ordinary request data your browser sends to fetch a page, plus the map tiles requested from OpenStreetMap and CARTO.
Stored on your device
Two preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them between visits: your light or dark theme choice and your language selection. Both stay on your device, are never sent to us, and disappear when you clear your browser storage.
Third parties
Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap and CARTO, and those requests necessarily reveal your IP address to those providers. Fonts are self-hosted, so no font CDN is contacted. Links on the course pages lead to race organizers and reference sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no social media tracker embedded in any page.
Your choices
Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to request, export or delete. If you have written to us by email, that message is kept only as long as it takes to answer it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Changes to this notice
If the site ever starts collecting anything — if analytics are added, for example — this page will be updated before that happens, and the date at the top will change with it.
